Ju Wenjun completed the formality of defending her title against with a draw in game 9 of their Women's World Championship match. All the hard work had been done with four wins in a row between games 5 and 8. Ju Wenjun didn't have the match all her own way but her reliability and technical play was far in advance of her opponent and that proved the difference. This was an impressive win for her. This is her fifth title match win, she gained the title from her opponent Tan Zhongyi in a match in 2018. Ju's seconds were Ni Hua, Maxime Matlakov and WGM Wang Pin.
