The 10th Vugar Gashimov Memorial took place Thu 26th to Sat 28th Sep 2024. This was a two day rapid and one day blitz tournament in Shusha, Azerbaijan in memory of Vugar Gashimov who died at the all too early age of 27. Players: Ian Nepomniachtchi, Vladislav Artemiev, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Richard Rapport, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Rauf Mamedov, Aydin Suleymanli and Chithambaram Vr. Aravindh. Ian Nepomniachtchi took clear first in the combined standings with 19 points (rapid games counted double) ahead of Nodirbek Abdusattorov on 18 points and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov on 16 points.
